Think of your journey out of this deep cave. The best way I have found is to visualize a ladder that I can climb. There is someone at the top reaching for my hand and I have my other hand behind me reaching down the ladder helping someone else. Napoleon Hill says, “No man can become a permanent success without taking others along with him.” Of the many experiences I’ve had over my lifetime, I learned one important thing that has kept me from staying in the cave. Four magic words, “I need your help.” Those four magic words have kept my ego in check, and helped me to help others. Who does not want to help someone when asked in this humble way? It is not pity; it is allowing someone to assist you.
You may think “I don’t need anyone’s help,” but we do need others to help us. It is not what they can do for us, it is, what we can do for them. I have found that everyone wants, and needs to feel important. By helping others, we are helping ourselves and creating a bond with the universe. Remember what we put out is what we get back. If you need assistance, ask for it, you are not separate from your environment. Trust your inner self (gut) it has kept you going this long. I know it has taken me to a higher plane in spite of my personal defects.
